Today is National School Nurse Day! We'd like to recognize LCSD School Nurse Mary Kurz for all she does for our students!
This week (5/6-10/24) is Teacher Appreciation Week! We appreciate all the work our teachers and support staff do to help our students bloom in school!
Last week, the Pre-K classrooms had some young visitors brought in by Teacher Aide Rebecca Strickland. Students enjoyed holding and playing with the baby chickens.
Girls' Modified Softball earned another win Friday night against Wheatland-Chili! Way to go, Tigers!

Students in Emma Baldwin's 9th gr. Pre-AP English class celebrated National Deer Day on April 25. This class has bonded over their affection for deer this year, making it an inviting and open learning space. Everyone enjoyed deer cupcakes on this day!
Envirothon- Congratulations to the Lyndonville Envirothon Team, advised by Miss Kathleen Wronski, for winning first place in their competition on May 1. Maddie Baker, Jocelyn Mack, James Giarla and Molly Ingersoll did a great job earning the top scores for their video, Soils test and Current issues test. Overall, the team won first place for both Niagara and Orleans counties! The team will travel to SUNY Cortland for the NYS Championship competition May 22nd and 23rd.

Skills USA Winners- Two Lyndonville high school students achieved gold medals in the Skills USA State competition held in Syracuse on April 24-26. They are eligible to compete in the national competition in Atlanta, Georgia in June. Skills USA is a United States career and technical student organization serving more than 395,000 high school, college and middle school students and professional members enrolled in career and technical education programs.
Madison Davis took first place in Health Occupations Professional Portfolio and
Austin Gardner won first in Electronics Technology. Congratulations!

It was a sunny, but chilly, night for softball on Friday. Girls' Varsity Softball played against Oakfield-Alabama and won, 10-8. Well done, ladies!

Deanna Luckman's Pre-K class made guinea pigs with Melissa Marciszewski for a pet craft.
Students in Emily Aydelotte and Brenna LaSpada's class worked together to color a mural to show that everyone takes part in helping the earth. Happy Earth Day!
The Elementary Jazz, Junior Jazz and High School Jazz Bands performed, along with the Select Chorus, at the Night of Jazz this week. Music from Frank Sinatra to Radiohead was performed. Well done!
The Night of Jazz on April 17 was full of music from students in grades 5-12. Soloists, duets, trios and groups performed a variety of songs. Bravo!
Students in grades 4-6 are participating in a yoga club run by reading specialists Amy Damasiewicz and Katie Strusienski. Research shows that yoga encourages a more relaxed, peaceful state of mind.
Report cards for students in grades 3-12 have been posted to the portal. Hard copies will be sent or mailed home.
Kimberly Dumond’s class started their Berry Good Lemonade stand to offer faculty, staff & students (gr. 7-12) fresh choices to start their days. They made lemonade & iced tea & a special of the week: blueberry mint iced tea. They are learning service & real-life math skills.
